My name is Kerrie and I was born with congenital heart disease, I’ve had seven open-heart surgeries to date, and in May this year, I discovered I had sepsis caused by infective endocarditis.
My chances of survival were slim but somehow I got through several heart surgeries and being in a medically induced coma for 20 days.
I started to design ‘brave’ merchandise in 2016 to raise awareness of congenital heart disease and connect with others living with a similar diagnosis. Gold Hearted Club has now become so much more than that, giving someone a brave pin or print allows a positive message to be sent to the recipient and sparks a conversation.
For every item sold I donate a percentage to the British Heart Foundation and The Brompton Fountain*. These charities improve the lives of those who live with CHD and have a very special place in my heart.
*See individual items for the charity donation amount. Excludes p&p and payment processing fees.
